Ray Block is a Sydney based economist and economic historian. He sees a relationship between the transformational innovations now opening up, centered around low carbon energy, with the last quarter of the 19th Century, a period which saw the beginnings of new industries and strong growth. Couple this with the leaps and bounds growth of China and India, the superstars of the 21st Century, and you have a whole new world of dynamic and exciting changes ahead.
In July 2010, Ray stopped writing this blog to prepare a handbook on renewable energy developments in the three leading market economies- United States, European Union and China. This book Renewable Energy Transformation is a very readable report in non technical language on key developments in major industries updated to June 2011. The book will be available for sale December 2011.
